What voltage rang do I want my O2s to be at idle?

What voltage rang do I want my O2s to be at idle?

I'm going to check my 02s before I go in for a smog check, what voltage range do I want to 02s to be at?

between 1 milivolt and 1500

Really you cant do what you want to do with the 02s.

I thought that it was something like .5-.6 otherwise the 02s where bad, or that a bank was running lean or rich...

Open loop at idle when the engine is cold, they should start out near 500mV. The reading will rise as the engine warms, but while still in open loop. After the car is in closed loop, they jump around all over the place (mV's) as they are sensing the O2. They don't stay near one reading (except at WOT).
