what valve covers will clear 1.6rr's?

I think the lt4 composite covers will clear. They are a GM part.
Just so you know, modifying yours is cake. I had no idea what i was doing and it took me about 15 min with a dremel and pair of needle nose.

The lt4s should be notched for the alternator too.
If you modify yours, there are 4 bolts. For each of the bolt tubes that go through the cover, there are metal supports going crossways. The part of these cross beams which is closest to the head bends out, so that it is wider there than at any other place. You just need to bend that so that the support becomes taller, yet the same width as the rest of the support. Kinda hard to explain, but once you are in there you will know what i mean.

Yes, the LT4 valve covers clear the alternator. As others have stated the easiest thing to do is modify the stock valve covers. Just be careful not to overtighten them.
If you do have the money the LT4 composite valve covers a great improvement though! No gasket problems because of the integrated o-ring style seal, they are much more rigid which helps reduce chances of a leak (especially when compared to stock covers with the supports modified), they're stud mounted which makes installation a snap, and they help muffle valvetrain noise. A little pricey however.
