What valve covers R U using? ???'s about using Lt4 valve covers, also need part #

getting a little sick of my stamped crappy ones on my car, and the fact that i had to modify them to get my CC rr's to fit. I was thinking about buying some nice aluminum ones on eBay but was unsure of any fitment issues with having rr's and also unsure of the ability to modify these auction items. It came to my attention that i may be able to get my hands on a set of Lt4 valve covers through a connection and i had a couple questions about them.

I saw a set for sale on e bay and studied the pictures to notice that it looked like there are not the same (if any)crank breather holes on the composite Lt4 covers that there are with the standard Lt1 covers. issues with that? also, wondering (but assuming there will be no problems) with using CC pro mag rr's. I wouldn't think so due to the fact that lt4's already are supposed to have rollers anyway.

I also need the GM part # (if anyone could get it for me), for the Lt4 valve covers.

thanks a ton!

They have the same amount of holes as the stock covers. The PCV fresh air inlet is just on the top side of the RH cover, instead of the top.

no, i know about that. I have a cousin who works at Carmax and can get me the parts at cost or a little above. I only was using the eBay auction as a reference for the pictures. thanks for the input though.

also, screws?? studs??
so i have to get what all exactly
i have to get the two covers, the mobile one oil cap (cuz the stocker won't work i'm assuming)
is the PCV breather tube different then since the hole is in a different location?

wow, i just opened up a can of worms.

I have the ebay valve covers and they have supports in the same area as the stock covers. The difference is the ebay cover supports are probably about 3/16" thick. You just have to cut out a portion of the support to clear your rockers.

I did the CC promag RR conversion on LT1 afr190 heads. Also elected to use the Proform GM cast alum covers. They have about .25" more clearance than the stock covers. The poly-locks did contact the inside-top of the stamped cover, and, had web interfearance. I had to modify the new proform cover breathers (Rt and Left side) to fit between the CC promag RR (squeezed shorter). I pruchased the proform from paceperformance for $130. There ia a lot more moding than I had thought to get these to fit.

I have these on my 95, and they fit great. No problems. You do have to buy each part that shoebox listed. The PCV hose being on the side looks much neater. It's actually hidden beneath my fuel rail covers. I also have the OTC wires w/ this set up. I have pics, but no website. If you are interested, just send me a PM w/ your email.

I also have the ProMags, and didn't have any fitment issues. You also have to have the valve cover gaskets, shoebox has that PN as well.

It is expensive, but when done right, looks great. I had mine slicked down, and painted, so they are a smooth gloss black. I had also bought the MBA alum. tab inserts, back in the day, and they really dressed them up.

The alum. ones on ebay work just fine as well, its just that everyone is starting to buy them now...

I have the LT-4 covers over Scorpion 1.7rr and had no clearance problems at all. I also used the PCV breather hose Shoebox referenced, but added an additional rubber hose to connect to the TB because I wasn't satisified with the fit.

Here are a few pics:

I have the Proforms on my AFR190s too, The only thing I had to do besides the alternator grinding, is squeeze the oil/PVC baffle a little w/ some channellocks. This was w/ ProMags, ARP Permalocks. No clearance issues. Try this:

What underhood beauty! Relative to slp shorts, I had to grind on my Proform gm cast covers to get them to fit on the Rt side. In place where the #2 header tube weld was. Anyway, they are on now. Had to use a Felpro cork gasket to make them seal on an AFR 190 head.
