What tires to run????

I Have 4 BALD tires and ofcoarse I will be replacing all of them.. My question is what kind of tire is a great tire for the street?? One that will lock up good and not slip too much, I dont want DR's though.. A good street tire will do that i may have a matching set on all four... MY mods are K&N fipk, air foil, 52 mm TB, TB bypass, custom cam and cam kit, 4.10 gears, stock replacement clutch, Accel 300+ ign, OVC wire set, 1LE elbow, granatelli MAF, LS1 DS, Hardend u JOINTS, underdrive pulley, MAC headers, 4 inch custom y PIPE, no cats, hooker catback, and no suspension mods just yet.. 95 Z28 6spd SLP trans am take off rims factory size 16x8, accepts tires 245 50 16.. Anyone know what a good tire might be that will last long with some spining and donuts along with aggresive driving and good in the rain, will not be drivin in snow (FL).. Looking at the goodyear eagle f1 gs d3's but i have heard some nasty stuff about them.. Just need a tire that will lock up last long and good in the rain is what it boils down to.. NO DRAG RADIALS, unless they will last long and have a reienforced sidewall unlike the nittos.. they make your car feel too soft.. LCA's coming soon as well. any input would be great.

I'm in the same boat as you....my tires are all shot and I'm about to buy a new set. I'm going to be deciding between BFG KDWS, Sumitomo HTR Z II, or the Kumho 712. All are very reasonably priced and have there pro's/con's. I'll be buying 275/40/17's, so maybe these tires won't be as good for you....

Dont buy the kumhos! out of those three go with the kdws!

As for CoUnTryMuZiCZ28 if price isnt an issue go with bfg kd's. they are the best but very expsensive. But if price is an issue. i would go with the firehawks. great tire. And as for nittos not lasting long...mine lasted me 13 months with at least 20 passes on them from the track. Id say thats pretty damn good for drag radials. With your mods you would be stupid not to use a nitto for the street. Oh yeah and i got about 14 to 15 thousand miles out of them!

I have Goodyear Eagle GSC's on my car now, and when they had tread they were badass. I believe they are one step below Eagle F1's....I like them but they're too expensive for my blood.

especially with 4.10's u need to get nittos. Your traction will suck on street tires!

Nitto 555 up front and Nitto 555r DRs in back. Last a long time, great handling tire, still have traction in the rain. I took them out to do donuts in the rain, and I got have a turn done before they gripped. Thye have about 6k miles on them now, and still plenty of tread. I will never go back to a street tire now. It is nice being able to punch it and go, no half throttle BS

I like nitto 555's in the back and bfg g-force in da front....555r's in da back will go really quickly...they won't last long beacuas they are a drag radial...not a street tire

If i put 3.42's in my A4, should i get a drag radial? Or should i go with some nitto 555's or something? I am very undecided on this topic.
