It was on a '96 TA ...

It has a BBK name plate screwed the top, but that doesn't mean anything.

It has the marking EOD 245-9 engraved into the top, next to the name plate.

But other than that ... nothing ...

It appears someone attempted to do a home porting job on it ...

Bore size measures 2.310" or about 58mm ...

Is it a BBK? Is it stock? how can I tell ...

 

i dont think you can bore a stock TB to 58mm. also, a stock TB would have a tb coolant passage on it where i dont think the aftermarket ones come with them. just some ideas. have you tried checking a website with a bbk tb on it and compare the external components in the pictures to yours?

but mine DOES have the TB passage and it has gold colored butterflys.

I searched Google and Yahoo on EOD 245-9 and got no results ... I searched this site as well, without luck.

 

What you disctibe is a 58mm BBK TB, it has gold colored butterflys, and an EOD number on the side. I've tried to fix the OEM plate on my 58 bbk tb but it was different bolt pattern, so this part can't be swaped. The BBK tb's are supposed to have built in air foil.
I can check that number for you after few hours, but I'm 100% sure it's a 58mm BBK.

 

Correct ... the center, between the 2 bores is a nice wedge shape.

58mm BBK ... sounds good.
