What spark plugs on LE2
Just wondered---seems like you could put some rubber hose on them to protect them, especially the hard to get at ones. And too, with the heads off one could conceivably index each plug so that the gap would be oriented toward the intake valve prviding a better burn. JMHO
Perhaps one could index them and mark them along with any required shims while the heads were off and make sure that they were installed with the correct shims and paint marks when they are installed after the heads were installed and the headers put into their locations. Also if one painted the side of the plug which would indicate the orientation of the gap, then perhaps one could, with some work, install the plugs with the mark aiming at the intake valve. or a least not 180 degrees off.
If they weren't so damn hard to get to and see what you were doing it sure would make life easier.
I believe next time, I will mark all my plugs indicating the gap area and just see how many line up with the int valve when installed, at least for those I could actually see. Maybe I could notch the ones I couldn't so that I cold feel which way they were pointed. Just food for thought.

Yes, I think .035 -.040" is the ticket, especially with the compression gain with the LE2 head and Impala SS head gaskets. I have mine gapped at .050 (TR55), but had a slight low rpm, light load miss. I just installed a Digital 6 MSD and cleaned it up rather nicely.
