I'm making about 400rwhp.

Is it bottlenecking me at all? I heard that 450fwhp is the limit for the stock tb.

 

Lloyd recomends a 58mm for his 400rwhp setups. Please tell me that you are not on a stock 48mm with a gm847??

 

you'd definately benefit from a bigger tb. whether the hassle or not to bore out the intake to accept the 58 is up to you.

i would think the difference between 52 and 58 would be minimal

 

What kind of heads are you running? I didn't see anything listed in your sig.....

 

lt1 heads and intake, port matched to each other. and home ported heads.

I would like to see dyno results showing that a 48mm tb restricts a 450hp setup.

 

Do you have dyno numbers saying so? If so you must have some pretty good home ported heads.

 

no dyno numbers yet. thats based off comparison. there are plenty of stock bottom end lt1's making 380rwhp with gm847 and home-ported heads. I've seen guys go 11.5x with stock heads and gm847. I've got 11.3 as opposed to 10.5 compression compared to stock + 3" duals + the home-ported heads. There is no way I should be making less than 400rwhp, unless I had a 12-bolt and auto tranny, which I don't.

 

If all you have is a port match. Thats not really porting at all.

 

They are not just port-matched. Regardless, like I said, 400rwhp is possible on bone stock heads with an 847.

 

Are you sure? i thought the highest on stock heads was about 358 maybe 360ish.

we're getting a little off topic.

but just fyi, i'm not running a stock bottom end. it's 11.3 compression with forged internals and 6" rods. it's full bolt-on except for the underdrive pulley. plus, i have 3" dual exhuaust.
