What size shim to use for the starter?

I keep getting a *click* *click* when turning the key and someone told me I may need to shim it. Anyone know the size of a shim to use? It gets really annoying clicking it 10 times before it engages.

No shims are needed. The LT-1 is a machine fit. Sounds like you have a loose connections.

Re: What size shim to use for the starter?

clicking is NOT a shim. It's IS not enough current getting to the starter. Could be a bad connection or wire like at the battery or the 3 ground points. Could be a low or defective battery also. A shim will eliminate "Screeching" when the starter engages the flywheel.
