What size injectors to run?

Second guessing my injector purchase, they are going into a streetable 396, running warlboro 255lph and load leveler...I think I went with Lucas 36#ers, is that sufficient?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks, Charlie

What kind of HP are you looking at? Flywheel of course.

Wow I wish I knew for sure right now, but I was told by my machinist/builder that I will be up around 430+ How much water that holds I just don't know. I will be running stock casting trickflow gen Xs with a 236/246 on a 112 LSA bumpstick. I am pretty sure he said that will be RWHP, so what that translates to FWHP, I am not sure.

Thanks!

Charlie

You should be able to hit those numbers with 36's. I'd just set fuel pressure at 50 psi and you should be fine.

430WHP translates to about 520 flywheel. If that's the case, .07 x 520 = 36.4# injectors. I would step up one size and use 42#.

I would also stay away from the Delphi #38. That is what I went with and they will not offer injector offset values. I regret that and didn't know until after I purchased them.

Racetronix is a good company and you can find others on this board. The Ford SVO seems to be a good injector and they offer data specs for your programmer when you are ready to dyno tune.

Interesting, what do you mean by injector offset values? I am looking at the racetronix, it looks like the better bet for me right now.

Injector offsets are the variances in time relative to injectors opening and closing cycles. Some injectors open sooner than other brands... Others are later. The programmer can dial in the settings for the new injectors. Also, be sure to get a copy of the original file before programming.
