What size BFG DRs for stock 16" wheels?

What is the correct tire size for the BFG drag radials using the stock 16x8 wheels on my 1995 Trans Am? Also, is there a big difference between the Comp T/A and the G-Force TA? The G-Force looks like it would hook better, but has anyone had experience with both?

Just curious why you say the comp t/a.

I think the BFG Drags actually say "BFG Comp T/A Drag Radial" on them if I remember mine correctly, but that shouldn't really have anything to do with it.

Well I guess there's actually 2 styles of BFG drag radials - the Comp TA and G-Force TA. I was wondering which one offered better traction.

I think the Comp T/A would probably be better. The G-Force has a stiffer side wall, usually used for tires with lower aspect ratios. I would go with the Comp T/A. There are some guys going VERY fast with that tire.

I say the G-Force T/A KDW. If you go to www.tirerack.com and compare it with the comp T/A I think you might agree. Dry traction is nearly the same on both, but wet traction and hydro-resistance are SUPERIOR on the G-Force T/A KDW. I thing the G-Force is about $10 more per tire, but I feel it's 10 bucks well spent! If you care about apperance, I think the G-Force T/A KDW looks better too!

Links to each tire...

G-Force T/A KDW:

Comp T/A Drag radial:

Just my opinoin, Matt

the KDW isnt a drag radial tho, its an 'all' season radial, excellent tire tho all around, i like mine!
and i think BFG only makes one size drag radial for a 16" wheel 255-50-16!? if i'm not mistaken

My friend had some KDW's on his 94 T/A. those things are freakin worthless on the track. I know thats not what they are designed for. I am just throwing that out there in case someone would consider them over a drag radial.

I have 255/50/16 Comp T/A DRs and like them. My friend has the G-Force Drag Radial on his 18" chrome Bullits and says he likes them too. The G-Force DR is more for imports or is aimed that way but still work fine for any car.
