What are signs of a bad ICM?

What are signs of a bad ICM?
Could someone tell me what the signs of a bad Ignition Control Module are? I just replaced my coil and Im still getting an upper RPM miss. Could it be the opti?

When my ICM went out on my 83 camaro, it wouldn't even start. When I had a high rpm miss on my 94, it turned out to be a cracked plug/ burnt wire. Check plugs and wires first before shelling out for an opti.

I would definately lean more towards bad opti, burned plug wire, cracked spark plug than bad ICM. Usually those (ICM) work, or they don't. In other works, all spark or no spark!
