Guy has a 94 Z28. A4. All he has done to his car is a Flowmaster 40's, Hypertech w/ 160 therm, Hypertech chip, homemade CAI, !cats, and descreened MAF.

He begins bragging mainly about his Hypertech and get this...he says he is pushing 400 hp with those mods. About 360 at the wheels.

I've heard some pretty messed up stuff before, but how could anyone believe they got that much power out of stuff like that? What kinda hp should I predict that he has? I kinda want to give him a rough estimate to burst his bubble, but then again, he says he is getting it dyno'ed next week, so I might just let that drop the bomb on him. Anywho, he clearly has his figures screwed up.

 

First off tell him he is an idiot since the only F-body that took a "chip" was a 93.

 

I would say he is ruffly around 100 hp shy from what he thinks. He must be a total moron. I have an idea just ask him to race you. I'm assumeing your car is stock from your sig. Just tell him your stock 285hp car will hang right with his 400hp car. Maybe you will even beat him. That will really shut him up, then you can make fun of him.

 

93 isn't the only year F-Body that took a chip, but it was the only year of the the Fourth gens that did

As in multiples? possible, yet not without some exhaust work, the dual cat cars where the 95 California cars, and the 96+ for everyone else.... And dual Flowmasters? On stock exhaust.. Hope that was a typo

 

tell him he's got about 265rwhp if he's lucky.

 

...and challenge him to dyno it. Bet him 500 bones that he can't come within 50 hp of the peak he's claiming.

I'm not stock. I have K&N FIPK, SLP 1 3/4" jet hot coated shorties, !cats, Flowmaster 80's series(1), bbk 52mm TB. By next week, I'll have a x pipe w/ true dual bullets. Great idea...I'm gonna call him today and make the offer to him. I sure hope he accepts, I've been wanting a dyno run, especially a free one!
