What should the GAP on my plugs be?

Getting NGK TR55, should I get the .50 or .35 gapped plugs?

Also, are those wire sleeves really that effective? They say they protect them up to 500 degrees. Anyone use them?

Oh yea, I have a Bolt on 95 TA with MSD 6AL ignition

Nah, you DON'T want .50" gapped plugs, that would be about this far: / /

You want the .050" gapped plugs.

Sleeves can't hurt anything, and will definitely help keep the heat out. But I doubt you can put the heat sleeves over the entire length of each wire if you're following the stock wiring route, it's too tight in there.

500 degrees?

Manifolds can reach almost 700 degrees. Consider that if you'd like to use a good firesleeve.

And yes, TR55s gapped at .050" will work nicely.

if you have the over the valve cover ones then i wouldn't worry about it at all! just make sure to route them good and you'll be good to go

.050 should be fine for your car.

You don't buy the gap. You check the gap and adjust accordingly. And use a plug gapper and wire gauge.

Plugs generally come pre-gapped, but not always accurate or the gap that you need.JMHO

With my MSD Digital6+ and 11:1 compression I have been advised to run my gap at .035"
