what shifter to buy for M6

i will be picking up 96 ta and want to replace stock shifter.....i drove a 97 with a hurst, but it appeared to be different than normal factory hurst shifter.....anyone with input on what shifters are good out there please let me know.....heres my earlier post.....

I test drove a 6speed car yesterday and it had a Hurst shifter which appeared to be chrome with a white ball on top for shifter ball....it was a really awesome shifter....unfortunately, car was a piece of crap but man was that shifter nice....anyways, i am picking up a 96 TA next week with factory shifter....anyone having a clue as to what hurst shifter i might have seen i would appreciate it....if youve got a shifter you wanna unload even better.....
thanks,
john

you're going to get lots of opinions on this one but I think the Pro 5.0 shifter is really good. I use an MBA billet **** with it and it looks and feels awesome.

Here is the second vote for Pro 5.0.

This shifter and !CAGS were my first mods. I can't even remember how the car used to shift before, but it's awesome now!!!

i got pro 5.0 and i have a friend with hurst and they are both good but the pro 5.0 feels stronger less sloppy and smooother
and it took me 30 min of installation
go with pro 5.0 its your best choice

Sounds like a great deal for a new Pro 5.0. I'd definetely jump on it if I didn't already have one.

But to answer your question, Pro 5.0 if the only shifter I would ever use and recommend to anyone.

i was told you don't need the short stick with the pro 5.0 since you can just cut it shorter. however, i don't know the pro/cons of the lou's stick versus cutting the stick off.

Thumbs up

The shifter you tried out was a hurst billet plus, with the "chrome stick option" (HUR3915061). I have it and like it.
