What sensor is causing this?
What sensor is causing this?
Well I'm assuming its a sensor, but anyways here are the symptoms.
Sometimes when I start my car for the first time of the day (fires up easily btw) it will sit at idle at ~1500RPM and then slowly back down to ~1000. Ok, no big deal... In nuetral, the idle stays at ~1000 and might vary by a hair, but I could just be imagining that. Well, when I put it in OD or R, or any gear for that matter, the idle gets slightly jumpy... It will fall to about ~800 in gear and go up or down ~100-200 RPM's. It makes the car want to shake or go. However, when I give it ANY amount of gas, even just a little, the problem goes away and the car reacts how it always has with that amount of gas. But when I get to a sop sign or something, the car continues to idle rough. And when I'm not giving it any more gas and I'm just coasting, the car starts to idle a bit rough again, however, giving it even just a tiny bit of gas and it goes away. The problem seems to go away once the car has reached ~175* but I can't confirm that.
The Opti was replaced with a GM Opti about 6000 miles ago. Plugs and wires changed about about 11k miles ago. No arcing wires that I'm aware of. No Codes either.
So which sensors should I clean/check? And where are they located? Any Help would be appreciated.

Re: What sensor is causing this?
I get that same problem too, but not everytime.
It seems that when my oil pressure is at the 1/4 mark it runs a little rough and seems like it wants to stall. Thinking it might be my oil filter, not hold ing pressure I've heard that.
Anyone else know anything.

Re: What sensor is causing this?
i had a problem similar to this but on a different make car, try adjusting the throttle blades open just a fuzz more, or if it acts up parked you can try just putting a feeler gauge or something(paper folded a few times) 5 or 10 thousands thick between the adjustment screw and the linkage to hold it open in place of actually adjusting the screw
Re: What sensor is causing this?
Alright I'll try the injector cleaner, see if that makes a differance. I did go out there and noticed I had a lot of corrosion on my positive battery terminal, I cleaned it all off but in the process broke off the power connecter to my Amp, since the corrosion got so bad. I haven't run the car yet but tomorrow on the way to the stereo shop I'll pick up some injector cleaner and run it through there. Any specific type I should look for?
