What rpm is safe?

What rpm is safe?

When racing, so far i've only hit about 5000 rpm, what should i be revving to, or whats safe? and best performacne in mind.

The rotating assembly is usually good to the 7K that the pcm can handle so safety is a non-issue, but if you have not had it reprogrammed your rev limit is lower than that anyway. With a basically stock car you are going to want to shift at something over 5500, heck b-body guys are shifting over that with smaller cams.

bone stock: 5700

bolt ons: 5900

After that, it depends on your cam and head work.

Where would you say to shift with bolt ons plus a CC304, 1.6 roller rockers and double spring valvesprings?
