At what point do you need 7/16'' studs?

At what point do you need 7/16'' studs?

Guys, like the title says. At what point, and or what cam specs would require you to use the bigger studs?

Its just like "needing" boxed SFCs or LCAs, they dont hurt at any HP level, but you dont need them until high high HP, I would almost say any level with a Hydraulic Roller cam 3/8" studs are fine, solid roller you definitely want 7/16. In other words, there is no set level that you need them.

yea this is one of those "well if your gonna replace them might as well get the better ones" kinda situation

I my 383 makes 410rwhp with 3/8 studs a 306 cam for over 11k no problems.

That's how I felt about it. They aren't expensive, so why not?

I'd go 7/16" if I had to go with non self align rockers and guideplates.

As cheap as studs are, it's silly not to run them if you have the opportunity, IMO. Even if you aren't running something really aggressive, valvetrain deflection is something I'd want to try to minimize .
