the motor i got recently the guy said it had a pocket port job done

what is that and about what kind of hp increase could be exspected (probly depends i am guessing)

 

To over simplify, a pocket is the bowl area under the valve seat. Good results from radius work (blending the edges of the bowl). Pocket blending is an important part of head porting and should not be overlooked. As far as increased performance, can't say anymore than I could say for sure how much you would gain with porting other than basing perfomance on the flow and velocity of the heads. JMHO
