What Next?

Hey everyone, I am wandering what I should next to the good old z28. If my y pipe ever comes I am going to install the longtubes, I guess thats the usual for most people. I have a pair of stock heads waiting for port+polish and a 224/230 comp cam, but that wont be installed until april or may. So what should I do next, gears? Maybe 4.10s? Torque Converter?? I guess gas mileage isnt really that important because the furthest I will drive is to a track which is about an hour from me, this is my daily driver. Any ideas on what I can do to prepare for my heads and such. Should I get some drag radials? On all four tires or just back?? Sorry this is kinda long, thanks in advance for all your help.

I'd put a stall in there. Though I have a M6, I hear that's everyone's favorite mod.

Then you don't need a torque converter.

Put some sub frame connectors, adjustable torque bar or even lowering it. Anything done to the suspension to get those tires planted is always a good mod!

Well if you got heads, cam, and long tubes in the plans, you might wanna think about dumping that stock muffler for a nice cat-back.

Jet Hot Long Tube-purchased
High Flow Cats-purchased
Hooker Cat back-purchased
Y Pipe-purchased
^^^Waiting for y pipe to come in for install!!!

Stock heads-purchased but awaiting port and polish
Comp Cam 224/230-Purchased
Possible Supercharger plans or 383, I dont know which to go with

You say I should get some suspenssion stuff, what about tires?? I have a pair of slp wheels im not sure what size 16x 7 or 8, would a pair of drag radials (nitto, bf goodrich ect) do any good?

I would definately get some stickier tires if you're gonna be taking it to the track. No use making all that power if you can't plant it.

Some stickier tires will definately help with getting the car to hook up correctly.

As far as a supercharger or 383 goes, why not do both? If you get the supercharger, chances are one of your pistons will end up breaking. If you don't have the funds for both, then I would just go with a 383 myself.

Tires and sub frame connectors are the way to go to get all that power planted to the ground. I would also install a TA girdle on the rear-end for insurance, just incase you hook real hard. The stock rear-end can’t hold that much initial shock when you punch it.

This should give you a little history on it. You can also order one there.
