You guys had to remove the starter? I don't recall that getting in the way for me. How are they set up differently?

I pulled the starter, alternator, plugs, steering nuckle, both valve covers, dipstick. I think that was it. Its been a while.

I tried from the top before I got the car that high. I had no luck. BUT once I got the front end off the ground about 4-5 feet off the ground they slid in with no problem from the bottom. No need to lift the motor.

I told my mom that she needed a lift in her garage.

Edit: I had the rear on 2 ton jack stands

Here is a link to one of this forums member's website. He has photos and some brief tidbits about his header install that may be of some help. http://www.bfranker.badz28.com/fbody/exhaustday.htm As for tools, I used regular hand tools for just about every step of the process. I did, however, go to Sears and plop 90 bucks on the counter for an electric reciprocating saw. That made removing the old y-pipe and catback a breeze.

I strongly suggest an OVC wire setup. It is so much nicer to deal with. Also you may need to move some wires along the way. I think i had to extend and move quite a few wires to make sure they would'y burn. I had to raise my engine to fit the passenger side header in. I would suggest new plugs new wires possibly new 160 thermostat while your at it.

I had a lift and it was't real bad, but I'm not going to lie to you and say it was easy cause, it was very far from that. I've had some expirence working in a shop so I had a plan going in.

Of course this was for a set of hooker headers but I'm pretty sure you are going to do most of the same stuff.

Good luck,

~Jim~
