What mufflers sound good with duals?

With or without headers. Doesn't matter. Any sound clips?

I've heard alot of Dynomax Bullets. They sound real good, but are pretty loud. I'd like to hear a dual setup with the Ultraflow rounds.

Theres not alot of mufflers you can run if you are doing true duals. Not a whole lot of room on our cars. I have duals with bullets and love it. I guess its the sound of the cam that makes me like it so much!

What sounds good to one may not sound good to others.

I personally would not drive a high hp car with those Flowmaster single chamber mufflers on it. Heck, the Dynomax bullets are pretty loud in their own right. But that may be just what you're looking for... who knows.

You can listen to a few dual setups there. I kinda like the setup on the white firebird (flo-pro twister mufflers) near the bottom. Not near as loud as the "bullet" setups and has a nice tone. Moroso also makes a muffler called the Spiral Flow. Its built like a bullet (asthetically) but uses a cancellation like the Spintech mufflers. These sound pretty mean... although I've only heard them on older cars, no 4th gens yet. Not as loud as a bullet and a totally different kind of sound, closer to those Pro-flos.

Spintech has some low profile mufflers and so does Borla (oval XR1). But they get pricey. Or you could go with a dual-in/dual-out muffler from Magnaflow etc..

Good luck.

I dont see how the Flowmaster Single Chamber mufflers are going to be that loud compared to the Dynomax bullets. I have a bullet on my car right now and as Im sure you know, its just straight through. A muffler, no matter how many "chambers" it has, has something to restrict the flow and is going to muffle the sound at least a little bit...defintaly more than a resonator. Thats just the way I see it, I could be way off though.

My buddy has those flowmasters on his 89 gt. He has equal lengths into an h pipe with those, and it is obnoxiously loud. They tend to sound like tin cans due to the single baffle inside. Just my .02. Good luck

Would a 3" exhaust setup be better performance-wise than a 2.5" setup?

I've got my Dynomax Bullets in the mail right now. I can't wait!

I'm going with Jet-Hot LTs, 2.5'' X-pipe(better for ground clearance) and bullets

IT's going to be great!!

In most applications 3" true duals are overkill. 3" single exhaust is fine, though.

When dumping the exhaust like that before the rearend like on this websites pictures http://www.lanesperformance.com/custom_duals.html would there not be issues of exhaust leaking into the cab of the car? Is that safe for daily driving? I want to get mine done like those, but I am afraid that the exhaust would be leaking into the cab when I stop at a stoplight or something. Any information on this?

if you want a really obnoxiously loud setup i would suggest the dynomax bullets, it sounds so loud i love it, unfortunately i wont have a true dual setup since im having a turbo kit put on @ pro turbo in san antonio....but it should sound pretty bad *** with one as well

On my TD setup, I ran 3" all the way back, into an X-pipe, and into a pair of Flowtech Afterburner muff's...I've gotten nothing but compliments on the sound...(Im running Dynatech LT's too..)
