What MSD Opti Is this? (PIC)

What MSD Opti Is this? (PIC)

Came with my car..

I see the one has a black face, the other red.. the black face one is like $150.. the red face is in the 500's.. whats the diffrence?.. do I have the expensive one?.. Can I tell based on color?..

Well, there is the MSD cap-n-rotor kit, which is the $150 deal, and then
there is the MSD opti/rotor/cap kit, which is the $500 deal. I have the
$150 deal, which looks exactly as your photo. You wont be able to tell
if you have the MSD opti (from that angle) or just the cap/rotor, unless
you remove it.

However, there might be markings on the outside of the opti that would
reveal if it's stock or an MSD opti.

An MSD opti will have the timing adjustment screw.

Where would I see this screw if I had it?

so If I have the screw its a MultiSparkDischarge.. if there is not one, its just a MSD brand cap?

On the passenger top by the wiring connector. Mine has an adjustment screw that uses a 13mm socket to turn it.

nope. no adjuster. Must just be the MSDs OEM replacemet.

I've had major issues with my MSD units... Went back to Delco, and NO PROBLEMS!

AFAIK, they only make the two replacement models and both should have the timing adjustment screw. If it does not have it, then it's probably not an MSD opti.
