The thermostat and water pump will help with your cooling and maybe 1-2 hp but nothing major. I'd invest in a nice set of heads to get the most out of that cam. $500 can get you a nice job on your stock heads if you don't have the cash for replacements. One major thing though, I'd invest in some suspension mods to get the best out of all that power you have. You really need to get that 60ft down. I know you said you want to go faster but your not going to go anywhere without the suspension to get your power to hook. Some nice traction mods and a good set of DR's and your gonna be having a blast. Don't remember if you had subframe connectors but if you don't that's something your going to need very very soon so you don't tweak the body. Otherwise you'll be closing your doors with your hip before long.

J roll, Do you think i need subframe connectors yet? Now you got me worried. I really dont want to tweak my body. Or do i still have a long ways to go before something like that starts to happen. thanks

As far as suspension goes...

1) Spohn Torque Arm

2) BMR Boxed LCAs

3) Subframe Connectors

then springs, shocks, sway bars, strut tower braces, panhard rod...

I've heard of people tweaking their bodies with a lot less mods than you, so it's possible. I would just do it to be safe. A set is like $100 bucks and then you can have a muffler shop weld em in for you for around $20 bucks. Pretty cheap prevention. Plus it will make your car feel much more ridged and stiff. You definately need suspension improvements before you get any further in the power department. I'm sure you can hardly get traction now, just imagine if you had any more hp. I've seen strokers get whooped on by mildly modified cars just because the car with less power was putting a lot more of his available power to the ground instead of into a smoke show. Just a thought. Good luck

I'd say some headwork. As far as tweaking your body....anything is possible but I doubt you have to worry about it just yet. I would definately get some LCAs and relocators though.

it depends...

do you street race? (or do you race from a roll at anytime...) if so i'd get a horsepower mod, which in this case would be heads (get your LT1 heads ported)

or if you want to have traction (even a stock lt1 needs traction mods) get the SFC, tq arm LCAs and that'll help u put the power down to the ground... also airbags in the back left alot... especially rear right (cheap too)

What does "tweaking the body" mean? Never heard of that... since we're talking SFCs, is that like twisting the frame or what?

But yeah, can't go wrong with SFCs.

Well i have heard a lot of people mention LCA's, relocation brackets, and a torque arm................but the last line in my post says that i have them sitting in my garage just waiting to be put on........As far as the SFC's go......i have always heard that they are not needed on a HARDTOP????? that they are much more useful on a convertable or T-top........ I was seriously thinking about porting my heads but do you think that the hotcam is strong enough to handle ported heads??? Maybe just mildly ported ones i guess..... Thanks for all of the quick replies.... Keep em coming guys|!!!!!!

Yeah I refer to twisting the body as "tweaking it". Also I did notice you had that stuff in your list as mods to install. What I was saying is that you need to install them. Then add maybe another thing or two for suspension and you'll be much faster. SFC are definately needed for vert's and are said to really be needed in T-top'd cars also I agree. But ask anyone on this board if they made a difference in their hardtop car and they'll all say yes. My car used to be hardtop before I did the conversion and they did wonders. Just made the whole feel of the car much better. Also I did mention earlier about head work. Yes the hotcam will be just fine. Some people do headwork before a cam and they are fine, they just don't get the full potential out of the heads. Get a good port&polish job on your current heads and have it matched to your cam and you'll be very happy for awhile. But like I said earlier, you won't be any faster until you can put that power to the ground.
