LT1 T-56 was Borg Warner manufactured in Germany if I remember right. It was either 98 or 99 when Tremec bought the T-56 division and moved production to Mexico when the troubles popped up.

Reverse flow cooling was a compromise solution to allow GM to make the power they wanted out of the Gen II (LT1/4) engines. It allowed them to run higher compression ratios on pump gas. The drawback is that it has issues when air gets in the system, and with local hot spots in the coolant passages in the heads.
