What kind of times to expect??

Well, the wife ran her vert for the first time on Friday. She ran a 13.9. It is a 1994 Z28 Convertible with the following mods:

Lunati 50155 cam (small, 505/520 and duration in the low 200's.)
Hooker super comp shorties and Y
Flowmaster muffler
1.55 roller rockers
Meziere water pump
SS cold air
LT4 KM

Tomorrow, I'll be putting on the following:

52mm throttle body (it was free...)
Underdrive pulley on crank with the speed correcting one on the alternator

She was having some traction problems and this was with the stock trans and converter. At the end of this week, we are putting in my auto and a Vigilante 3200 stall.

What do you think we can expect with a good launch??

52mm tb on a cammed car might be worth 2-3hp
UD pullies also worth 2-3hp.

if she was having traction problems with the stock TC the vigilante will make that worse.

what tires are you going to run on?
if on street tires i would bet your et will be the same or slightly slower....but on a set of DR or et streets i would say mid 13's
what was the mph?

I think her best mph was 99. Her 60' time at best was a 2.1. This was on F1's. I think I'll be ordering some DR's as the car doesn't get driven that much so they would last us a year or so.

Also, I think her trans may be costing nearly a half a second!! I raced a buddies 02 Z28 with a few mods last night and we would be dead even until the car shifted. He would pull about half a car then we'd be even again. This occurred on the 1-2 and the 2-3 shift. My trans shifts instantly so I don't think that he would get that jump and with a little practice with the converter with DR's, I see her 60' times improving.

Do you have any tuning for the cam? stock lt1's run that et. and trap speed. Change the plugs and wires, fuel filter, trans fluid, etc something isn't right about your car. what did it run stock?

Ryan,
your MPH is low like others mentioned. That indicates that not enough power is put to the ground, at least for those mods.
Whether it's a tranny problem or an engine problem, that I don't know, but I'd start figuring it out before doing more mods.

Everything has been replaced in the tune up department. Looks like the mph is low because she lifted at about the 1000' mark. The track is not well marked; they have 3 posts and the 3rd one was gone. It was the first time running at this track. Running on a marked off quarter locally, the car seems to trap at about 106-108. We'll try again on Friday and see what happens....

I just threw a baseline tune in it so far. Haven't had time to do any DM runs and I have absolutely no time to go to the dyno.

The trans takes almost 2 seconds to complete the shift on 1-2 and 2-3. the one going in shifts as quickly as a manual valve body.

Should I cut the holes larger in the hooker collectors?? They are only about 2" in diameter and I have heard people say to cut them larger to accomodate the Y pipe.
