I just got my motor a 398 LT4 built for nitrous. I will ran 150 shot and was wondering how much I would make in hps and 1/4 without the nitrous and then with it. Here what I have.

398 Ci .40 overbore LT4 Block

Crank was dynamically Balanced on the block with the flywheel and ATI Balancer.

well, wave goodbye to the 10 bolt. street twin will eat that right up. if u must stay 10 bolt, u wont be much for times, cuz u will be feathering it a lot. an oddball guess would make me say mid 11's with that setup, assuming it all works together. this is assuming good traction too. lol

 

SJBlackZ28, the car is going to run, exactly what it ran in Darko's car. This was someones setup already. Both cars are f-body's..Its gonna run exactly the same..

 

Oh yea this is in a built auto LT1, no street twin clutches

I can't guess times because it really depends..

 

I dont know what, but something in that setup was not right if I recall correctly, and Darko was trying to figure it out. Because I remember at the GM vs. Fords event, he was only running like high 12's low 13's at roughly 106mph..

 

I will guess around 450-470rwhp N/A and around 600rwhp on the juice.
I will also guess your ET will be as long as it takes for the tow truck to come out on the track and tow your car past the traps cuz your rear end is gonna explode.
If you had the proper rear end, suspension (you never mentioned if it was upgraded at all) and tire I would say you got a good low 11sec car there.

other than that, 450rwhp if your SLPs are longtubes, and 440rwhp or so if they are shorties.

 

Hey Diego me and rick were talkin about it and he thinks that the cam is wrong but Darko got it custom grind for the motor. His tranny was also going out too so maybe that I dont really know. If it is the cam i might change it. Im still researching it to see what it is. Suspension is brand new front and rears stock springs and shocks. SLP are shortys. I'll be happy with 600rwhp on juice.

 

In order for the car to run the way your are expecting, you need suspension, GOOD Tuning (which I am sure Rick can take care of), and a proper running engine. You cant just pick a cam, and say "This one sounds good". You cant just put parts together and expect them to run properly, many people wish it was that way.

 

Ya need a bigger cam and probably up the compression a bunch to make a bunch of power. The heads will run out of wind about 5500RPM's

 

450rwhp = 530 flywheel hp He can see much more than this.. I think he can easy see 550 at flywheel so it will be ~470rwhp.
BTW: Definitaly 12 Bolt rear end required

 

Hey Diego the motor was tune by TEAM ZR1 when they came to the bay area but I got a laptop and LT1 edit so I probably have rick retune it on his new dyno and see what he can do. Darko said they tune it by Data because I guess that how they do it. most likely it will be retune on ricks dyno for sure.
