Mobil 1 75-90 or RedLine 75-90... And yes you should put additive.. just spend the 4 or 5 bucks it costs..

What would be the advantage of 75-90 over 80-90??? I was also thinking about switching to synthetic in the rear, but had the same questions.

What about synthetic tranny fluid for a T-56??? What kind do you guys use???

Thanks

I was told by a few guys strictly not to put synthetic in the rear end , just to use the cheapest 75-90 and use the GM limited slip additive. Just what I was told, you might want to ask around about it....

This is the first time I've heard that....

As far as the T-56...I've heard a lot of people saying to go to a Honda dealer (yes, a honda dealer) and get their Honda ATF...ehh it might be synthetic (i know someone will clarify this)? But, I've heard a lot of good stuff about their fluid. I think the M6 tranny requires like 3.6 or 3.7 quarts to fill it. Sooo, you'll need four quarts.

It really depends on the posi unit. If you have an Auburn posi you will burn up the clutches in it of you use synthetic and it will make weird cracking/creaking sounds. Info for the Auburn can be found on their website at http://www.auburngear.com

If you have a Torsen diff. you don't need the additive & can use synthetic fluid per the mfg. You can also try the semisynthetic oil.

Honda ATF eh??? Sounds interesting...would that make me rice??? And you say that you think it is synthetic???

Anyways, I have a GM RPO code book here and I'm assuming that would be a good place to check and see which posi unit I have, correct???

Thanks
