I am about to order the federal mogul kit thru summit ($499. flat top hyper) and see the kit comes with gaskets.Federl is a big outfit but I was wondering what comes in the way of gaskets ,specificlly the HEAD GASKETS.and what are some of your experiences with this kit.my goal is a little better than stock with CC304 cam,stock manifolds and a Trifecta tune on compleation of swap-no spray EVER,maybe 3.73 gears,mild 355

 

Well, they own Felpro, so thats probably what you'll get in the kit.

 

I would call summit and see what they say about it. What kind of kit is it? If it's a stock rebuild, the head gaskets will more than likely be stock, as will everything else.

did you get 9966 or 1074 and are you going to use included gaskets,did you have block decked and heads CC"d -i am shooting for 10.5-11 to 1 cr

 

It included the 9966 head gaskets. No i'm not having the block decked, etc.

 

Your heads are going to be around 54cc. If you want to up the compression, you'll need to get some GM Impala or Mr. Gasket head gaskets.

 

with decking the block,flat tops,54cc and the 9966 fel pro's @.051 will 10.6 cr be there ?i am too poor to build another motor if impy gaskets cause trouble after install -i am NOT doing any labor myself and its kickin my butt ! $500.00 just to R&R engine-he has garage with lift

 

Yep. It's a lot of work to pay for if you don't do it yourself. The SCR is 10.5, so I guess that's what you'll get with that kit. What cam are you going with?

Then that should be fine with close to stock compression.
