What is the intake jumper hose for?

What is the intake jumper hose for?
On my NINETY THREE Z28 I have a 3/8"-1/2" hose that jumpers from the drivers side of the intake right back into the intake. It is broken and I cannot find a part number if I do not know what it is. Please help.

Also, I was wrong. It is on the drivers side.
