There are copper gaskets made for LT1s on ebay for $27 shipped (20+7). I'm thinking about using those this time around.

I'm using Earl's Performance Plumbing Pressure Master gaskets for the LT1. They're aluminum with graphite around the ports. Putting them on in a few days. Got them from Summit for $37.00.

I have used the Earl's performance gaskets for years on my Impala SS. On more than one occation i have lost more than one header bolt with no leaks. One time at the track I lost 3 on one side and no leaks. I'm sold.

Re: what header gaskets?pacesetter longtubes..

I used Mr. Gasket on my hooker long tube headers. The hooker headers had square ports.Does all hooker lt1 headers have square ports or do some have D shaped ports like the lt1 heads. My gaskets were for the square shaped ports.I have no leaks and for some reason i didn't see any gains with my headers. It does sound better.

I used the ones that came with the headers. 14 months so far and not had any problems. I would not use the copper ones from ebay they suck bad. You have to goop on lots of silicone just get them not to leak! But use what you want as long as you check your header bolt every now and then to make sure they are still tight.
