What happened to my t56?

I went to shift into 3rd and the gear shift went into somewhere "between" 3 and 5. It went all the way forward but when I let out of the clutch, nothing happened. The motor just revved. And it was difficult getting it back out. All the gears are fine but I really did not like the way it felt. It has happened now about 5 times.

What is wrong?

My friend had the same thing happen, YOU MADE A 7TH GEAR ! lol, ok dont worry about it, just DONT shift so hard man. When you shift really fast and hard your synchros cant do there job and you can easily miss a gear. I recomend getting a PR0 5.0 shifter or even a B&M ripper. Both of these shifter units will eliminate your 7th gear problem.

How can they help? I know in my Mustang, I have a shifter for the stops. I heard t56s have internal stops so I didn't bother getting one.

If I remember correctly, the T56 does not have internal stops.
I am not 100% positive, I'd have to check back with the overhaul manual etc.
