Re: What the H*ll is this Stranded leaking major Fuel!!!
Not at all.... tanks only halfway full...
I started smelling gas inside the car for a while... especially underneath the car, and with the blower on... but could never trace it in the engine bay... I smelled it whenever the pump was primed though...
recently I found a hose that was loose for some reason and leaking fuel at the pump housing so I put clamps to keep it on there... and this is the most recent issue...
I installed a 255LPh pump 5 months ago...

Re: What the H*ll is this Stranded leaking major Fuel!!!
ok, I'll try this one..
When you swapped pumps, you didn't by accident put the fuel return line on the vent line and vice versa did you? That would explain this, since there is a little extension tube on the return line and not on the vent line (at the tank cover). If you DID get those swapped, then heat building in the tank could force the fuel out the vent line (thats what you have taped up). Try loosening the cap and leaving it loose for a bit and see if it quite puking fuel. If it does, then there's something in there submerging the vent line when it shouldn't be.
Only thing I can think of that would cause this...

Re: What the H*ll is this Stranded leaking major Fuel!!!
hmmmm I installed the lines in correctly... but I think we are on to something...Bud... When I reconnected my lines... the "vent tube" line... had a tab on there that was blocking me from connecting the black hose onto it. (at the bottom of the Fuel pump connection cover)....
when I first took the pump out.. and tried to plug the "Vent tube" hose onto the vent tube connection for it there was a tab that was bent in... that didn't seem as though a hose should go onto there... (this is all underneath the fuel Pump connection cover). Thinking that I bent the tab taking the pump assembly out... I unbent it... and affixxed the black vent tube hose onto it.
I'm thinking know that I was sucking up gas into the vent tube line and that's why I started leaking fuel at the hose connection on top of the fuel pump cover... where the gas first started spewing out..... then after I clamped that line up... the pressure found its way to the vent filter itself and started spewing out there...
does that make sense...
So I should have not connected the black Vent hose that attached to the Pump bucket itself to anything at all... and that tab was actually bent in.. because a hose was not to be connected to that fitting... is that correct?
Thanks for helping me man... I appreciate it...

Bingo.
Do I win a prize?
Here's a good link with some fairly detailed pics that can help you sort this thing out.
