I am wondeing if 100 octane is enough for a 14.5:1 compression lt1? I figure we can go around 12.5:1 on 93 for 100 should be good for 14.5:1. someone enlighten me on what octane to use.

 

I hope this is not a street motor. If it is, it would be foolish to specify 14.5:1 compression. I don't know anyone running 12.5:1 on 93 octane, and if they are, they are probably running a huge cam that bleeds off some of the cylinder pressure. I'm running 11.3:1 in my stroker and I probably wouldn't go much higher on pump gas. The gain by running any higher compression wouldn't be worth the $$$ in race gas needed to run it. My own personal opinion, of course!

 

no it is not a street motor.. it is going to be a solid roller budget race engine. i shouldn't say budget but not all out ***** to the wall.
