What fuel pressure gauge? 15 or 100 psi??

Hey, I am going to be running a fuel pressure gauge inside the car.

I KNOW I KNOW I KNOW...you aren't suppsoed to, and that leaks would be a pain in the rear.

I am going to have a NX wet system hooked up with a window switch, fuel pressure safety switch, and an arming switch.

I don't want it under the hood, and I don't want it on the hood since I don't feel like drilling or marring the stock hood.

What gauge? 100 or 15psi? I am thinking the 15psi makes more sense.

15 psi isn't enough, as your car runs stock @ 40+ psi. You'll need the 100 psi gauge, and they do make electric gauges so you don't have to run a fuel line inside the car.

Where would you hook the fuel pressure gauge up at?

Right off the fuel rail.

I know that a mechanical fuel gauge would hook up off the Scraeder valve, but...

Even the electrical ones? Do they just have a mechanical to electrical or is there a wire you can splice in elsewhere??

I have never dealt with one personally, but I believe the electrical style's sending unit mounts to the fuel rail, then the wiring from there runs to your gauge. BTW, it basically IS a mechanical signal to an electrical signal.

Sounds good!! Thanks for your help! I really want to do this right and obviously, I don't know everything and I appreciate it.

If anyone else reads this and knows if the Autometer Ultralite Gauges come in an electrical version of the 100 psi gauge, let me know where to get it!!

Thanks!!

Yeah, I found it on ebay. Is it electrical? Is it mechanical?

I am looking for it too right now, and will post if I do . If you figure it out before I do, be sure to let me know!!

Sweet. So its got one of those mechanical fittings that goes on the fuel rail, then converts it to an electrical signal that is then sent through the firewall and in to my gauge correct?

Where did you find this info at??

The complete kit is about $149.99 from summit... or ebay. It's much safer than running a live gas line at 40+ psi into your cockpit. Vaccum gauge yeah okay... fuel line.... Never. I have one, it's damn accurate too.

Stewart Warner also has a 0-100 psi electric guage that includes the sending unit for about $90.00.I installed one of these in my car and it works well. It's not a full sweep version but I don't plan on doing any professional racing any time soon.
