Unhappy What Exhaust Should I Buy???

I have a 96 LT1 with A4/3.23's. I want to purchase a high performance exhaust for my car, no headers, just muffler pipes, etc. What I am looking for is a system in which I get good power gains but not too much noise. Some systems for Z's are just too loud! I'm looking for close to stock exhaust noise levels. Deep sounding, not too loud, good power, that's what I'm looking for.

So many option, flowmaster, corsa, borla, SLP...which is best for the above criteria?

Thanks

Close to stock sounding hmm? I'd say hooker, dynomax, magnaflow, or SLPs dual/dual would work for you.
I think SLPs dual/dual is the quietest of the systems I just mentioned.

Good luck.

Don't expect good power gains from a different exhaust without headers. Even with headers, a catback is only going to add a few hp.

Take a look at Magnaflow, it sounds exactly how you described.

Hooker is a good system. I just bought the muffler and had a shop run the pipes. Mine is idles really quiet. It only gets loud if you hammer it down. Actually, I wish it was louder (I love loud cars), but the cutout should take care of that .

I am very pleased with my Corsa cat-back. Deep rumble at idle, low interior noise when cruising and of course sounds great when you hop on it. Corsa also has excellent customer service.

I totally agree. I was thinking of Flowmasters, but many people say they rob you of HP. I love the sound of them and the look of the 3" stainless tips.

Has anyone tried Edelbrock's catback? I know they make one for the LT1s, but I never hear anyone talk about them.

GMMG is my number one favorite or try the gale banks stinger if you wanna save some coin and want a similar sound.

Hooker isnt that loud and sounds awesome. I have LTs/ORP/Hooker cat-back and it sounds very nice without the loudness that some other systems create. I can only imagine how quiet it is on a stock car.

Never heard of Gale Banks Stinger...Whats the retail on one of these systems, and does it really sound similar to GMMG?
