well, first off, with a different intake, it would probably have slightly different port locations, and has the square (roughly square) exhaust manifold ports...

Also, not sure if a structural difference is needed for this, but the LT1's are reverse cooled, meaning the heads get cooled first, then the block...

Yeah, I was aware of the reverse cooling and all, ad the intake ports.
What I am actually looking for is the structural differneces

sorry, but i'm not really sure about the exact architecture of the block, and how that is different from others...

Not all Lt1's are reverse cooled. Only a couple of years...I believe 96,97. Could be wrong as usual.

I think all newer ones are. my 95 is and I have seen many 93s that are.
The lt1 has been around for MANY years, I am just trying to gain some exact knowledge on the topic.

i'm fairly sure that all LT1's are reverse cooled, at least the ones with aluminum heads anyways...

All of the late model LT1s are reverse cooled. Including the '92 Corvette - '97 F-body with the 94-96 Impala SS thrown in for good measure. Iron heads and Al. heads made no difference in the cooling direction.

As for the other differences, possibly in the oil passages and water passages for the water pump along with the dry intake...etc.

Where do you come up with this stuff?

The biggest, most obvious difference is the cooling system. The LT1 intake is dry, compared to the older SBC. Water pump to block and head to block passages are different. Steam pipes from the back of the heads because of the reverse flow system. Front mounted distributor. Rotating assembly geometries are the same as the SBC, AFAIK. Basically, it is the last modified iteration of the SBC before they went to the all new design of the LS1.

And since it is reverse cooled the water passages in the block are also different.

Every lt1 is reverse cooled, this cooling allows for higher compression and wouldnt be an lt1 without that compression
