what DR should i go with

i have a set of 16x8s that i can either put 255/50/16s on or i have a set of 17x9.5s that i could put 275/40/17s on which do you think will hook the best, as for how much power i have the mods are listed below plus a hotcam kit and a 2400 stall.

Well, I believe both tires are 26" tall and have around a 10" tread....I've used the 275 40 R17s for 8 years, but thats because I only had the 17" wheels...you will have a bit more sidewall with the 16s which may help your launch a little...I think the 17s look better, and with suspension work I've been able to go a best of 1.60 to 60' with most runs in the mid 1.60s to low 1.70s...its not until you go with a tall 15" with a lot of sidewall to wrinkle that will you notice a big difference on your launch...also might be good to see if anyone has weighed their combos...compare them and see which is lighter...I vote for the 17s, but thats because I use 'em...

BFG 255's here. I love 'em and I believe you can get a little bigger tire on a 16" rim. The smaller the rim, the more side wall you can get, which will help with traction.
