What does the wire that hooks to the AC do?

What does the wire that hooks to the AC do?

Does that wire kick the AC on when the defroster is on? Ive heard some cars do that, do ours?

I aks b/c my a/c is discharged and i have no money for it right now, and soon i will need the defroster and dont want the ac coming on

it wont come on anyway since you have no freon in the system. our cars have a pressure sensor that will not allow the PCM to signal on the AC compressor if the system is low on freon or empty. this is for the safety of the compressor.

so dont worry bout it.

Is that what the sensor by the pass shock tower is for? It reports the pressure to the pcm and the pcm determines if the pressure is high enough for proper safe operation?

whats that wire do? Turn the ac compressor on?

yeah u got it.


the 2 wire plug to the AC compressor kicks it on. signal comes from PCM.

you can just unplug the AC compressor for more piece of mind.

it wont hurt none.

Or might be easier to remove the a/c relay.
