I was thinking, headers, intake, full exhaust,1.6RR's,electic wp, free mods, some LCAs, drag radials...through an M6 Lt1 w/ low miles.

Wow... you have low expectations. LOL I'd think with all those mods.... you better be deep into the 12s.

I'd think that would be setting your sights a bit high for a car with stock heads and cam. My car ran a 12.97 @106 on DRs with my current mods. I was delighted with that as I had only hoped for mid 13s. How fast you run depends on how well the car is driven and how good your car is. I've seen stock M6 cars run anywhere from high 14s to mid 13s. I'd say your planned mods ought to put you at or close to your goal.

I have every mod you described although I dont have the electric water pump.

If I put drag slicks on it might be possible to hit the 12's with a super good launch. The other thing that would make it tough for me is the heavier vert.

It certainly looks like the low 13's are in sight.

If you put 'slicks' on that 7.5" you won't get many 'super good' launches

Took a cam, bolt ons and tune for me to go 12.80@107

As many bolt on cars touted on this board for going 12's - i've never seen one at any of the 3 tracks that I frequent often. Maybe it's just NEOhio that's cursed against the bolt on wonders

I had all of these things and a 3000 vigilante torque converter with 373 gears in the rear and ran 12.65 so I figure with those mods it will be very close.

Re: What does it take to get an LT1 into the 12's?

There was a track by my house that used to be HORRIBLE. It literally looked all wavy looking from the burn out box to the 1/4 lights. There were big spots that were uphill a little then downhill for a little. It was crazy as ****. I think it was becasue we went there in the winter htough? They must have to reroll it and pave it every spring with this ****ty PA weather or something.

And yes, full bolt ons, you can hit 12's. High, but you can do it. And the rear end will eventually die after so many crushing launches.

He said full exhaust, 1.6 rollers, electric waterpump, suspension, and drags. If you are a full bolt on car with 1.6 rockers AND an electric wp.... I would pray that you would be able to make a sub 12.7 pass on DRs. Lets be honest here, a properly driven car making ~300-310rwhp, which a healthy lt1 with these mods should make, will be capable of a mid 12..... possibly more. It has been done and can be done again. DRIVE THE HELL OUT OF THAT THING!

Running 12s can be done with alot less HP than you think! Don't over look your suspension. My LT1 stock with iron heads, all bolt on's ran strong all year with 1.7 60'.
