What do you think about buying a used cam.

Ive been thinking about doing a hot cam kit and i have found one used for about 8K miles. Is it ok to buy a used cam, rockers and springs? Does $185 seem like a good deal or should i spend the extra $300 and buy new?

I bought used everything, rear end, headers, catback..... but when it came time for my cam i decided to buck up. Many people have successfully installed used hydraulic roller camshafts but to me it wasn't worth the risk.

Used driveline parts, no problem! When it comes to the internals of the engine, I would go new. Unless you are good with a Micrometer and can check the lobes for what you are looking for, I wouldnt do it. I would rather have peace of mind knowing what i put in was new, and know what it is going to do! Good luck, just my opinion!
