What do you Know?

I installed a set of scorpion rockers in my 97 and am missing one. I ordered one and they sent me a non self aligning rocker. Can I use this on my Lt1. I read somewhere that those are the only ones you can run?(Self Aligning) Does anyone out there have any special tricks on how to remove the fricken crank hub. I have gone through 4 craftman pullers and that thing hasnt budged.(besides soaking it with oil/lubricantes, I already tried that.

Come on now Fellas, I still havent pulled that crank Hub off but I can figure that out. The real question is can I use a roller rocker without a self aligning tip? Sombodys gotta know this. Btw, its for an 97 Z

I could be wrong, but everything I've read says that the scorpions are all non-self-aligning...

I have a set of aligning rockers with the guides on the tip. They sent me one without the guides and I just need to know if I can use it or not.

Re: What do you Know?

If it is a NSA Rocker, then no you can't use it! Send it back and get the right part.

As for the crank pully, it has a lip on the inside where you put the middle piece, so if you don't have something inside the crank snout to press against, then you will just be trying to pull off the balancer while you're pushing against it. So get a 4" allen head bolt that's skinny enough to go inside the crank snout and that works the best.

Re: What do you Know?

Follow the instructions in here to get the hub off, you will need to get an extra long bolt to help you get it done...

Re: What do you Know?

Thanks for the replies guys, I really apreciate it! I Broke my seventh puller before I figured out I was pushing off of the hub the whole time. . Maybe next time someone searches this topic they can learn from my mistake. I ended up just sending that rocker back because I didnt want to risk anything going wrong. Thanks again
