What do you guys think of this setup?

I'm getting really close to finishing my project, after 2 1/2 years in the making, and would like to get some idea's from you guys as to what you think it'll be like.

Ross forged pistons, and forged 6" rods
Callies Racemaster forged crank
LT1 block, bored 30 over, clearanced for 3.875 crank, making 396 roughly
splayed 4-bolt mains
Bosch 42# injectors
AS&M Monoblade throttle body
Jesel comp series shaft mounted rocker system, with tie-bar lifters

Exhaust -
Jet Hot ceramic coated headers, with off road y-pipe
No cats
QTP electronic cutout
Corsa Catback with premium pro series tips

Tranny - T-56
Rebuilt with performance upgrade rebuilt kit
-with new blocker rings, billet keys, 3-4 steel shift fork, etc.
Custom aluminum driveshaft good to ~1200hp

Rearend -
Moser 9 inch rear, 3.75 ratio
strange aluminum case
33 spline axles
detroit true trac

Suspension -
UMI torque arm, with cross brace, and driveshaft safety loop
UMI double diamond SFC's
UMI double adjustable panhard bar
BMR boxed LCA's

Hotchkis strut tower brace
New bilstein shocks
Eibach prokit lowering springs

I might have missed a few things, but that gives a general idea of the setup. What do you guys think of it?

You are leaving a good bit on the table with that low of compression ratio...I would check the dynamic compression to see where its at...do a search.

Needs a 4.11 or a 4.30 gear.

If you ever put that car on slicks and launch it and it hooks, say bye bye to that aluminum center section.

No frame conectors?

I chose the 3.75 gears because it's not going to be a straight all out race car. It'll probably see about half and half, of street and track use. With the monster engine, I still would like to get a little bit of gas mileage out of it while driving around.

Also, what do you mean by frame connectors? Never heard of them.

Looks like a strong, solid setup. Hate to see what the grand total tallied up to.

11.2 CR with 76 chambers? Are your pistons domed; thin HG?

What am I missing here?

Using a pretty thin fel-pro gaskets, and slightly domed Ross pistons.

I've gotten the engine and tranny in over the past few days, with the help of some awesome friends, and the exhaust. Just bolting up all the little stuff, accessories, wiring, and then wiring up the MSD ignition and Meziere pump. Hopefully, if I can get things hooked up over the next day or so after work, i'll be able to start it up come tuesday night or wednesday.

With all of that 3.75s aren't going to be the make or break on your gas mileage. And my brother's 94z with longtube headers, cai, no cats, gmmg chambered exhaust and 4.10s got better mileage on I-80 between illinois and des moines, ia than my '02 taurus. We filled up in illinois, and in des moines put 7 gallons in his car and 8 gallons in mine.

Frame connectors connect the front and rear subframes since a camaro is not a full frame car. Get some with that kind of power, unless you like stress cracks.

Woops sorry on the frame connectors.....but I will tell ya....that car will be a WHOLE lot more fun with a 4.11 or a 4.30 gear...with a double overdrive 6th gear it won't hurt that much. Besides who cares about gas mileage at this point? You spent ALL that money to have fun.....right?

And make sure the rear swaybar is back on the car, with a 9 inch it is hard to get the swaybar back on, it can be done..I did it. Without it it will drive and handle funny.

I'll be getting some new sway bars as well once I get the engine broken in, and then put in the moser 9 inch. With those sway bars i'll also be getting the relocation brackets for fitting that rear, so things will be much more fun. This whole project has taken just over 2 1/2 years so far, and i've yet to hear her run since back in 05'. I'm really anxious to hear it, let alone drive it around.
