Hey I found this while searching for a budget crank for a 355 performance buildup, it's a GM 1053 forged replacement crank for the ZZZ, ZZ2 and ZZ3 engines and will fit in the LT1 no problemo. So what do you guys think of it over a stock crank? Here's the link:

I would use the stocker or step up to a Compstar, not that this is a bad crank, just not worthwhile strength wise over a stocker and if you are looking to go wild then buy something really meant for performance.

The stock crank is stout.

Thanks I guess I'll just get the Scat rods and Mahle pistons then, this is just a budget rebuild stopgap motor until next year when I get my fully built 383 done.

Sounds like a good plan. Just make sure you get GOOD machining, a cheap bad bore job is money wasted not saved.
