hello, i just joined today. i own a 93 z28 and have a question for you guys. i was thinking of modifiying my car so it can run low 13's. im kind of clueless on what to get and how much that will cost. it currently has 88,xxx miles on it and its automatic. or should i just save up for a newer car which i hope, will get in couple of years.(hopefully a 69-70 chevelle, 68-69 camaro or a ls1 fbody).
also, can anyone tell me what opti-spark is? i know its a problem for the lt1's but what are the "syntoms" of it? and how do i fix it?

Opti is your very unique distributer. As for getting in the low 13's, I would start with the bolt on's. CAI, Headders, cat back, and a stall should easily get you there.

my car has a problem where when im crusing around 40 or so, the rpm just drops and goes back where it was. it does it repeatly. it doesnt do it when i floor it but just when i midly give it gas. can it be the sparkplugs/wires? i am lost...

 

Have you ruled out that it is your tranny gear searching?

 

it happens when the car is warmed up.
