I'll have to crunch the CR but I think you're a bit on the high side. Are you at a zero deck height (piston top flush with deck of block)?
To cc, you need to get the deck surface level. Then get a burrette and a spark plug
. Use a little bit of dishwashing soap to break the surface tension and fill the chamber up. If you can get a piece of plex and drill a hole in it, that'd be the best way. Then just use a bit of vaseline to seal the plex to the head.... then fill.-Mindgame
i used a program to calculate the CR. the machinist told me i would be around .005 deck? that sound right?

That's right at what I get for near zero deck (of course I can only assume the gasket bore diameter). But ~10.7 is probably real close.

"Quench" is the distance from the top of the piston at TDC to the deck surface of the cylinder head.
If the piston is say, .005 down the bore at TDC and the intake gasket is .035 when compressed, then we have a .040 quench height. .035-.045 is usually what people shoot for although you can go tighter.
