Question What do you consider a "factory freak"?

A lot of people say that I have one of the few factory freaks.

With just a flowmaster muffler, CAI, and on street tires my car ran 13.511 @ 101.56 and got a best mph of 101.97... the car was very consistantly running 13.5-13.6 e.t.'s trapping 100-101.

Are those 13.5-6's in Florida summer weather or the "cooler" fall weather? The CAI is going to give ya 1-2 tenths in the 1/4. Not sure about the flowmaster though. I would say you have a very healthy LT1. Someone on here went like 13.3..... maybe even a 13.1???? Need a little more info about conditions and such to throw the "freak" work around

Sounds like you have a great running car! Take care of it, drop in a few mods, and what it scream!

Later,

Mike

I ran 13.3 @106 w/ 4.10s, shorties, CAI, and a cutout.

I thought that was good.

i dont think you will find a factory freak any more. production tolerances are way too good.

Factory freaks are a thing of the 60s.

FYI, my friends bone stock 95 TA went 13.8 @ 103 crappy et, but good MPH.

my car trapped 105 mph with just a exhaust/intake(same as you).. and many other people do the same

factory freaks may be a thing of the past but there are definitely some dogs that come from the factory! i saw a 2001 T/A running 10.0's in the 1/8 mile with no traction problems at like 75 mph or so.

i guess when it comes down to it, i got the right mods in the wrong order... all that flow comming from my headers is basically hitting a brick wall (stock muffler) before leaving the exhaust. im figuring that ill gain like .2-.3 and a couple mph when i get my dual exhaust and my lt4 KM.... but thats just speculation... i wish my car were faster...

Get it dynoed on a dynojet, too hard to say with track times whether it is a "freak". 60ft times, elevation, humidity, etc etc etc, all that factors into a track run. Only way to really really compare cars is dyno numbers on the same dyno SAE corrected.

I think my car was strong with CAI/Catback dynoing 277/311 SAE, but the best I ran was a 13.8 @102 with 2.4 60ft. An LS1 will dyno around there bone stock but run a mid to low 13 at 105+

I agree there arent factory freaks. Some cars are in just better shape and running condition than others. Little problems that users arent even aware of compound into 15-20hp losses.

Now that is said...my buddies went 13.0 with 6 speed, cut out, CAI and program. This wasnt one time thing, it was consistent 13.0-13.1 car. FREAK!

Hmmm, cough pffft, cough pfft. I'm sorry, but how does a BC4 tune simply add 55hp? Maybe 5hp but there is no way in hell a tune can do that much. Well maybe I should find a wreaked BC4 and take the PCM out of it and put it in my car, then I can go LSx hunting Seriously tho, I call
