What to do next? 18k 96 t/a help!

i know its been asked before but i havent been on here in a bit and i was wondering what i should do next. the car has 18k miles i know very low, doesnt get driving much only from now till fall on weekends only, but its that time i havent done a thing in a year lol,

i have the k&n ram air, 160tstat, loudmouth,
i was thinking RR/springs and a tune? or maybe throw a mild cam in her? i dont want to go crazy but i wouldnt throw out the idea of a mild head/cam package only problem is i never did a cam before idk how much that would cost if its over my head...
any suggestions ?

I dont know why you would want to do a h/c package now! Thats a nice winter project, i would stick to bolt ons, drive, and enjoy the car.

A nice set of MAC Mid headers, or Longtubes, and the 1.6 RR's. Both made a significant difference for me.

A Great 1.6 RR combo is:
Comp Pro Magnum Non Self Aligning
7/16" rocker studs
Hardened Pushrods
GMPP Hardened Guideplates
LT4 springs

That is a very nice set-up for a strictly bolt on car! But I wouldnt run those springs with nay aftermarket cam, except maybe the LT4 hotcam.

good ideas guys i was actually thinking mac mids last winter, how loud would that be with the loudmouth though lol, i guess i could always swap the resonator, as for that rr package how much would that run? and if i went that route i wouldnt really get into cam anyway not at least for awhile so that setup would be good for me, research research. here i come

Yes, I only recommend them for 1.6 RR's and the Hotcam. For those applications, they have about the best track record you'll ever find for durability.

I think the RR setup will be about $400 total. The MAC headers will be slightly louder, but it's the catback that makes the most difference. Myself, the LM is way to loud. I love my Hooker catback. If you go with the MACs, convert to a '94-'95 exhaust style header. They are true mids, the '96-'97 style are shorties. I think I got my MAC midlength headers coated by Jet-Hot for around $500 shipped a few years ago.
