What to do with my exhaust?

I will be doing one of two things

1) Ripping out my Y, going to true duals, and finding a way to make it go over the axle so I have 2 out the rear. Side pipes are NOT an option.

2) Unbolt only my muffler ( Flowmaster ) and find another muffler, that will still give it that flowmaster rumble and popping (Just something that will sound mean as hell but NOT a hooker, I dont like them ). Would I be able to just get the GMMG Muffler(s) ? And hook them to my exhisting piping that I have for my flowmaster ?

i think your going to have more time and money than what its worth. just throw a cut-out in w/ electric motor. you'll increase hp, the volume of exhuast note, and you'll thank yourself later on down the road.

Hola HardcoreRM125,

I concurr with Schweet97Z. However, if you are set on changing mufflers and want the db's then I'd go Loudmouth 1 or 2, or dynomax bullet. You don't sound like the magnaflow type but that would be my first choice as I prefer power over sound, and get my db's at WOT.

Dont go over the axles, youll never make it without them scraping because there isnt enough room on the drivers side from what i hear. Have the exhaust shop run the pipes under the axle and have them angle the pipe immediately angled up after the axle, youll have good ground clearance still, dual exhaust tips and the good sound.

Re: What to do with my exhaust?

I noticed that, on the one side it would be hard to fit a true dual over the axle ?

I think a Camaro looks like **** hough with side pipes, well, not from the side, but from behind it does ...

I wonder if theres just a better flowing crossflow from flowmaster ?

Does anyone know if a different brand muffler will bolt onto a flow master intermediate pipe and still align itself right ( As in, the tips wont be offset or anything stupid looking )

Re: What to do with my exhaust?

use the old pipes to practive welding. when i put my exhaust in, I thought I might be a little rusty on the mig welder, so when i got my flowmaster catback, stock y-pipe, and manifolds off (with the little help from a cutting torch and a lot of frustration), I practiced welding various pipes together to get back "in the flow". last thing i wanted is crappy welds on my new exhaust.

Let's separate fact from fiction here...two 2.5" pipes do fit over the axle on the passenger side (one over the PH brace, one below). Look at the Bassani design for true-duals...it works.

Re: What to do with my exhaust?

I thought about ripping my y pipe off, with my cutout, and my cat back system, getting true duals through bullet mufflers, and dual electric cutouts. But I doubt I would do that. I have a 3" collector, I would get a 2.5" true duals system. 3" true duals all the way back may be a little too much for what I have now.

i have to dissagree with that.. i have 2 2.5in pipes run completely over it, no issues it hit originally but that was because the shop *forgot* to run the bracket to the other pipe and only held the pass side with brackets. anyways ild look into some dynomax ultra-flos if you want a good deep sound that flows well. they arent listed for specific applications but they make a universal that looks like it would work perfectly! as a sidenote to that im changing my bullets out for the ultra-flo welded until i get headers and a rebuild

You disagree that two 2.5" pipes fit on one side? Or that one over the PH brace and one under it?

lol sorry guess i shoulda specified that a little more, i meant the ph brace. i have both of mine run over it. no problems other than the fact i hate the sound the manifolds produce through it too echoey almost harleyish (i also think this is due to some o2 sensor issues that im trying to get fixed if i can ever leave the car to get the pass side one changed )
