Exclamation What to do?!?!?!?!

Here is the problem....MY auto tranny went out so I am stuck with taking out a loan (college student) to get it fixed. I got my hopes up found a guy with a 6 speed, called him and he is like its a 5 speed.....Anyway....I'm stuck...I really have to have my car back soon as in really soon. I wont have any trouble paying my loan off either but money isnt easy to come by so here we go...

Option 1. Stock rebuild $650
Option 2. Like a stage 2 rebuild, warranty, reputable shop around $900-1,000.
Option 3. Stage 2 rebuild...around a 2400-2600 stall converter probably from edgeconverters.....around 1500....plus put some money in on a nitrous kit.
Option 4. t56 swap....it'll take around 2000 bucks plus more time than my other options....I cant drive one that great but its what I want to do, but the time and money thing kinda keeps me away.

I'm leaning toward the option 3....It's daily driven lt4 hotcam kit, mac headers, bolts on and stuff.....so what to do what to do any opinion is GREATLY appreciated!

i daily drive my car as well so i know what you mean about down time. if you do want a t56 and you desparatley need a car on the road go with the cheapest. then save your money for the t56 swap. have everything that you need ready then do the swap. but if i were you, do the cheapest option. no sense in building up a auto only to replace it.

Go for the performance rebuild. If you go option 1 you're just gonna have to do it again after a little while.

I would go with the t56, I couldnt drive stick at all untill I got this car, now im NEVER going back. Auto is just to boring, plus I find I pay attention to driving more, so I'm less likely to get in an accident, speed, or get tickets. But if you really cant afford it now, slap in the 650$ rebuild, and save everything you have for the t56.

Build it up so it'll last with the power you got. Stock will only last so long...

I'm thinkin 1500 will be enough for a good rebuild and a good stall converter...I know everyone loves precision industries and yank stalls but does anyone use anything else?

Do option number 3 minus the nitrous kit. If you decide you really want a M6 car, sell yours and buy one otherwise you'll just be throwing the money away.

Hell, by the time you decide you want a M6 again, you might have enough money to own 2 F-bodies

No way I will sell my car...I plan on keeping it as my first car. It started out as a 3.4 liter I put an LT1 in it, with a rearend and tranny, then I p[put headers, lt4 hotcam kit...no way I can get rid of it, its part of me....check out my baby...
