what could I do??

I just installed my headers and stuf like two weeks ago, and the y-pipe is leaking at all connections, I used band clamps on all of them and made them very tight, do you think this could affect my performance at all.

my car barely even chirps 2nd gear , don't you think I should lite up the tires banging 2nd gear

also what could I do to seal this

With all of those leaks your a/f is way off. Take it to a muffler shop and have evrything welded up. Then reset the computer, by removing the fuse.

Re: what could I do??

Well I wouldn't think that it would even affect my a/f ratio since my o2's are located right before the y pipe in the headers, unless the air somehow travel up the header instead of away from it..I was thinking that maybe I was just losing enough backpressure so that I had no torque..

I mean I have a decent amount of mods, and I think I should atleast be able to spin the tires a decent amount while banging into second gear.

Also please let me know how I could fix this, does any of that exhaust cement crap work cause I have heard that stuff doesn't work. and I don't want to weld it either

thanks

Re: what could I do??

My set up leaks in the same spots as well. Good luck getting an exhaust shop to weld anything on your car. I went to every shop in lafayette IN. and no shop would work on my exhaust . Because it has no cat they refuse to work on it. I think my only solution is to buy a welder and do it myself. Clamps don't seem to seal no matter how tight I have them. My leaks are small and after the o2s so I havent lost verry much hp if any. If you do find another solution please follow up good luck man

Just wanted to add on more thing with your pacesetter Lts. After one winter the coating my headers completely came off the collectors but the part of the headers that is in the engine bay ,coating is still great. Just thought I would give you the heads up.

thanks for the reply, but I don't want it welded, I'm looking for something to seal the fittings better along with the band clamps

Re: what could I do??

I used teflon tape for the AIR fitting plugs worked for me. Other than C clamps or band clamps there really is not much else you can do but weld. I can see why you wouldnt want to. Later on you might have to take the exhaust off to get to something and you wouldnt want to have to cut it off. But what else is there ? lol
